woman in mourning gravestone

“This is a photo I captured at a cemetery of a statue of a woman in mourning. I can’t help but to be drawn to this image as I contemplate the Passion of Christ.”

Beautiful, sublime picture; equally talented skulptor and photographer!
The sunshine as though the Hand of God, comforting the woman. I like to also think it is strong moonlight bathing the Angel that comforted Jesus in Gethsemane, and the lightspeckles, as starclusters, descended to console Him.

Thank you Tina! I like your reflection on the image.

This sculpture really stood out to me. It looks so life like and her grief can be felt through her body language, hunched over on bended knee, sunken shoulders, so weak with grief she must hold her head up. Her creator/sculptor communicated this emotion without saying a word.

It reminds me of the pain that we all experience in life. And even how our pains and struggles can be a gift from God. Simply because we are able to feel so strongly, so deeply and how our depth reveals to us our Soul. Our Soul which God graced each of us with. In that very fact I find comfort in Him. My faith grows and my longing to get to know the Lord better grows as well.
