New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day seem an appropriate time to ask, in the words of Mary Oliver, “What are you going to do with your one wild and precious life?”

I think that this should be the year when I give my life to God. It is far too precious for me to try to manage it…:)
Do you mean we have a choice? So much of life is happenstance – it just happens wether we make plans or not . A life given to God is an agony.
Life will not move in clockwork precision, our lives are unpredictable but given the faith our lives are meaningful in the hands of God
Andie, we do need God’s help at all times. This is a good reminder for all in the new year.
Hala, we have free will, so there are many choices to make in the course of a lifetime. Many things do happen beyond our choosing, but how we respond to those situations is a choice too.
Jo, well said!
Happy New Year to everyone. I love that quote from Mary Oliver!
Thank you for your presence here in 2012, Margaret. Happy New Year!
My resolution is to accept every minute of my days and life with conscious thoughts of Love, Joy and Peace this year + a good dose of “Be Not Afraid”
Mary Ann, a laudable resolution! May more of us live toward love, joy, and peace.
