Blizzard Snapshot

evergreen bush after Chicago blizzard

Last week’s Chicago blizzard left many snowbound and forced a change in routine for those of us in the stormy area. The fresh snow when looked at as pure nature was beautiful, but its sparkle was hard to catch on camera. This photo shows an evergreen bush that would not be buried completely by the snow, just as the human spirit triumphs time and again over storms.

  1. …….for we are in His Hand, yes, ourselves and our sayings, and all intellectual and practical knowledge.
He it was who gave me sure knowledge of what exists, to understand the structure of the world and the action of the elements, the beginning, end and middle of the times, the alternation of the solstices and the succession of the seasons, the cycles of the year and the position of the stars, the natures of animals and the instincts of wild beasts, the powers of spirits and human mental processes, the varieties of plants and the medical properties of roots. And now I understand everything, hidden or visible, for Wisdom, the designer of all things, has instructed me.
    (Wisdom 7:16-21)

  2. Andie, normally I love winter, but the snow the last few weeks has me looking forward to spring. But as Bridget reminds us with the Wisdom quote, we were given the seasons as gifts.
